Search for the whole journey
Use a door-to-door origin and destination, not just a line. A useful alternative should explain total duration, transfers, walking time and price when an official fare is available. If you have reduced mobility, a pushchair or luggage, apply accessibility preferences before comparing.

A scheduled time says what should happen. Live data reflects the latest update published by the operator. Coverage varies and a source may stop responding. emap marks a result as live only when it can verify it, and clearly falls back to the timetable when it cannot.

- Review the final leg: a nearby stop does not always mean an easy access route.
- Check your return before travelling at night or heading into the mountains.
- Look at the source and update time of any live arrival.
