Accessibility statement

How emap works to make its websites and content perceivable, operable and understandable.

Scope

The emapapp.com web map, this public website and the emap app for iOS. The Android version is coming soon and will be assessed before any conformance is announced.

Compliance status

  • Web map: conforms to WCAG 2.1 level AA. The automated axe-core audit recorded 0 violations in light and dark themes in July 2026.
  • Mobile app: under evaluation. The iOS app accessibility review remains in progress.

What emap does for accessibility

  • AA-level text contrast in both themes.
  • Keyboard navigation and always-visible focus.
  • Semantic headings and landmarks for screen readers.
  • Touch targets of at least 44 × 44 pixels.
  • Support for reduced-motion preferences.
  • Interface in Spanish, Basque and English.

Known limitations

  • The map canvas is not fully operable with a keyboard or screen reader. Essential route, timetable, fare and text information is also available in HTML.
  • Some third-party content, such as live traffic-camera images, has no full text alternative.
